Vestas Gets 21-MW Wind Turbine Order from Ukraine
December 30 (SeeNews) — Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) has received an order to equip the Staryi Sambir 2 wind farm in Ukraine, the Danish wind turbine maker said Thursday.
The company will supply and commission six units of its V126-3.45 MW turbines for Eco Optima LLC’s project in the Lviv region. Delivery and commissioning are to take place in the second quarter of 2017. The contract for the Danish firm also includes a 10-year full-scope Active Output Management 4000 (AOM4000) service agreement.
Vestas also supplied turbines for the Staryi Sambir 1 project in 2012.
Ukraine’s total installed wind capacity has reached 438 MW, according to figures by the local wind energy association. That excludes capacities in Crimea. On December 20 the 4-MW Prychornomorskiy wind park was put online.
About two months ago it was announced that wind projects in Ukraine using locally-produced equipment will get a 10% premium on the tariffs they receive.
