Cabinet of Ministers Approves Strategy Document Supporting Transition of Ukraine’s Economy Through 2050 to a Low-Carbon Development Model That Reduces Greenhouse Gas Emissions, Abandons Fossil Fuels and Invests in Renewable Energy Sources

“This document envisages emissions reduction and increase of greenhouse gases absorption, introduction of environmentally safe production using ‘green’ technologies in all sectors of the economy,” said Ecology and Natural Resources Minister Ostap Semerak.
According to him, after the protocol decision to support the proposal of the Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry is approved, Ukraine’s strategy for the low carbon development until 2050 will be sent to the Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change for the approval at the international level.
